About Erin Hogan
Erin Shea Hogan is a Boston-based vocalist, collaborator, and educator whose versatile voice seamlessly transitions between early and sacred music, cross-genre collaborations, and Celtic and English folk traditions.
Growing up in Grafton, WI, Erin’s certainty of a life in music began at age 5. Performing and working on music in churches, school musicals, youth choirs, and bands through her adolescence fostered a love of harmonizing, collaborating, and listening deeply to others. Music and harmony inevitably became the lens through which she could view the world.
Rooted in the Western classical tradition with degrees in Vocal Performance from DePaul University School of Music (BM ’17) and Boston University (MM ’23), Erin has built an eclectic career that bridges genres and communities. Her curiosity and passion for connection have led to collaborations across opera, chamber, early, and sacred music, as well as jazz, folk, and world music. Participation in the Silkroad Ensemble’s Global Musician Workshop was especially formative, where she shared the stage with Mike Block, Jamey Haddad, Maeve Gilchrist, Abeer Nahme, and musicians from around the world.
Her versatility has brought her to venues and festivals including Club Passim, The Rockwell Theater (Cambridge, MA), NEC’s Jordan Hall, Birdland Jazz Club (NYC), Arts at the Armory (in support of Sam Amidon), and the Boston Celtic Music Festival. In addition to her solo work, Erin is a sought-after ensemble singer and collaborator, performing regularly with her Celtic vocal band, Forsyth, The Adam Hendey Band, as well as with The Trinity Church Choir of Boston, Tiny Glass Tavern, Pandora’s Consort, Upper Valley Baroque, The Advent Choir, Nightingale Vocal Ensemble, and the Boston-based experimental vocal band Dreamglow. In addition to her solo and ensemble work, Erin enjoys taking part in recording projects and supporting artists with backing vocals.
A passionate educator and community builder, Erin maintains a small private studio and teaches classes through the Club Passim School of Music as well as the New England Conservatory of Music’s Expanded Education Program. When Erin is not performing or teaching, she enjoys attending concerts and sessions, exploring art galleries, cooking new recipes, traveling, savoring a hot cup of coffee, spending time outdoors, journaling daily, and reading several books at once.
